Room size is crucial in determining what size fan will be the most efficient and suitable for your space
Select an option below…
The number of fan blades is most often driven by aesthetics. Rest assured your choice of a Hunter Pacific Fan will always deliver the airflow and performance you need in the most efficient and quietest manner.
3 Blade: If you like the look of a 3-blade fan, be assured it will circulate the same volume of air with Hunter Pacific’s properly contoured fan blade designs.
4 Blade: A fan at your chosen price point, colour and style may often be a 4-blade design, where a balanced look is driving the number of fan blades.
5 Blades plus: Larger fans (200cm+) rely on a greater number of fan blades to create balance without relying as much on individual blades
What does AC & DC mean and how does it effect you when choosing a ceiling fan, our quick guide will help you make the decision a breeze!
It’s all about power – AC stands for Alternating Current in which the positive & negative sides are constantly switching, this is the type of electricity that comes straight from the power point. DC is Direct Current, in which the positive and negative sides remain constant, this type of power is usually associated with batteries, solar cells etc.
Lower purchase cost – AC fans use power direct from the outlet and are simpler than DC fans, making them more affordable than DC fans upfront
Energy efficiency – AC fans are not as efficient as DC fans but still have a low running cost especially compared to other cooling methods , most consume less than 100 watts on the high setting.
More Control Options – Most AC fans come with wall control (or pull cord) as standard with optional remote control kits available.
Energy efficiency – Although DC fans are more expensive to purchase, DC fans require much less power to run. Savings of up to 70% can be expected compared to AC fan performance. This efficiency means DC fans can save you money in the long term.
Quiet operation – DC fans feature advanced motor design resulting in quieter operation, an important point to note for installation in bedrooms.
More features – DC fans offer greater range of features including; more speeds, easy summer/winter mode selection and Smart Home options. DC fans being newer are also available in designs that feature modern clean lines to fit with modern design trends.
There is no right or wrong answer, all Hunter Pacific fans are energy efficient and manufactured to the highest quality for Australian conditions. In general AC fans are simpler and cheaper to purchase while DC fans although more expensive are more energy efficient and save you money in the long run.
The Hunter Pacific range includes both AC and DC models to suit indoor and outdoor applications and in sizes for all size rooms – still not sure? visit your local Hunter Pacific supplier.
We all know ceiling fans are great in summer but most people don’t realise they can be just as good in winter by improving heating efficiency and even reducing your heating costs. In winter warm air is trapped on the ceiling. Using your fan in (reverse) winter mode pushes warm air back off the ceiling where it collects, down to ground level, improving the effectiveness of your heater.
Keep cooler in summer – can also be used in conjunction with air conditioners to increase air circulation
Redistributes warmer air to improve heating efficiency and save you money on your heating costs.
All Hunter Pacific fans have to option to reverse the rotation either by selection on the remote or a switch on the motor (depending on your fan model)
Greater number of fan speeds means you have more control over airflow delivered by your ceiling fan. Especially important at night, when you need the lowest speed to allow sleep while keeping air circulating.
In general DC fans have greater flexibility than AC fans when it comes to fan speeds, most DC fans come with an included remote in 6-9 speeds (depending on the model) with models that offer Sleep Mode, making DC fans an ideal choice for bedrooms. In addition most DC fans are available with optional Smart Home functionality, allowing fan control by phone app or mobile devices.
Although featuring less fan speeds, AC Fans are still a great option. Most coming standard with wall control or pull cord (depending on the model) that are simpler than a separate remote that can be lost. For those wanting extra control options, optional Remote Control kits are available for most AC fan models.
Hunter Pacific has a great range of both AC and DC Fans that are available with a light or are Light Adaptable (Light kits available as an optional accessory)
Several DC fans including the industry leading Aqua V2 are available with an 18 Watt dimmable CCT LED light while others, including the breakthrough Evolve have 18 watt LED light kits available (sold separately)
